ABOUT

OUR VOCAL EXPRESSIONS COACH

Tracey-Acadia Thomas has been singing professionally for over 20 years. Her music career began in 1990 when she began singing with a musical group called "Stage Kids!" for 4 years. There she sang and performed along side a few stars from the hit TV show, "Degrassi Junior High," lead singer Lorraine Reid from the Juno nominated group "Temperance," and Ngozi Paul star of Global television's "Da Kink in My Hair!"

She took vocal lessons and studied Classical music from 1990-1995 in high school, which lead to her acceptance into the Fine Arts Classical Voice Performance program at York University in 1996 towards a  Bachelor of Arts Degree. Since then she has been singing professionally at weddings, funerals, in church, on T.V and other special functions and events for over 20 years.

She has participated in many recording projects and CD's including a successful Classical Christmas album "Hark," which she sang as a lead soprano in her senior year in high school in the choir. She also sang lead and back up professionally at church on the award winning album "Alive In Me," which won the GMA Covenant award for "Gospel Song of the Year," in 2007 for the song "Because of You!"

She started singing from the age of 6, and continues to sing currently as a back up singer and worship leader at TICC (Toronto International Celebration Church) and in the choir at Word Of Faith International Christian Center.

Tracey also appears on Peter Youngren's daily television program "Encounter" on the Grace TV network (formerly known as the Christian Channel) as a member of the Encounter Band as well as various solo performances and other ensembles.

She has sung in many different choirs throughout her career including Toronto Mass Choir's Power Up Ensemble and Prophetic Voices as lead soprano.

Tracey's powerful soprano voice has been known to inspire many through her angelic Classical style. Rooted in Classical training, her vocal ability has opened her up towards other music styles such as pop, R&B, Gospel, Jazz and soft rock. Her voice is versatile in range and has the ability to belt out powerful notes like legendary singers such as Celine Dion, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey to name a few.

Tracey is the Music Director and Vocal Coach of Vocal Expressions and would like to use her extensive music background, administrative skills and personality to nurture and raise up more talent in the Toronto community. As an active artist and professional singer, Tracey is working on her self debut album which is currently in the works.~
